To develop instrument classification, definitions, test methods, performance criteria and ratings, safety requirements, and constructions, where necessary, for reasons of performance or safety for
electrical reference measurement standards and devices;
electrically operated instruments and systems for the observation of measurement and indication of electrical phenomena;
electrically operated instruments and systems supplying electrical quantities for measuring or test purposes, including their accessories and auxiliary devices; and
electrically operated instruments and systems for measurement, recording, or control of process variables and their accessories and auxiliary devices.
Watt hour meters, demand devices, and their auxiliary apparatus, medical instrumentation, and instrumentation for use in hazardous classified locations are excluded.
Systems, as used in this Scope, include the assembly of instruments, accessories, and auxiliary devices.
Purpose
To facilitate the development and international harmonization of recommended practices and standards for general purpose and precision electrical and electronic instrumentation, including their accessories and auxiliary devices and the interconnection of such instruments, accessories, and auxiliary devices.
A joint TC66 USTAG and ISA82 meeting will be held 12-14 March 2013. The schedule is as follows: a half-day meeting of ISA82 will occur on the 12th starting at 1:00 p.m. and ending at 5:00 p.m. On the 13th and 14th the TC66 USTAG meeting will start at 9:00 a.m and end at 5:00 p.m. The meeting will take place at the International Society of Automation (ISA), 67 Alexander Drive, Research Triangle Park, NC 27709.
