ISA12.1 met on Wednesday, 27 February 2013, in San Diego, California. The 12.1 work program is currently limited to developing the next edition of ANSI/ISA-12.01.01, Definitions and Information Pertaining to Electrical Equipment in Hazardous (Classified) Locations.
At the time of the meeting, the Edition 3 PINS request was set to close on 4 March with public review to follow immediately after. The subcommittee planned to address public comments via email. Subsequent to the meeting, the 2013 standard was ANSI approved and published.
ISA12.1 discussed a recent request related to possibly updating the ISA training and the Ernest Magison book, Electrical Instruments in Hazardous Locations. Staff is gathering details on rights and the subcommittee members are waiting until the decisions are made on the transfer of ISA12 before any discussion of a possible scope and purpose change of ISA12.1 to support this.
