ISA Alaska Section Scholarship
The Alaska ISA section will award three (3) or more $5000 scholarships for the 2011/2012 academic year to students enrolled in a program preparing the student for a technical career. Students in engineering, electrical technology, instrumentation technology, or other closely related fields are especially encouraged to apply.
Requirements
Applicants must be enrolled as a student during the 2011 spring semester in an accredited university, college, or technical school, and must be in an engineering or technical trade curriculum. The applicant (or applicant’s parent) must be a current member of ISA. Join ISA today, so that you or your dependent(s) will be eligible. www.isa.org

Application Requirements

Provide applicant’s complete name and contact information (mailing address/phone number.)

Provide the name and address of the educational institution.

Provide the degree program in which the applicant is officially admitted.

ISA Member Name (If different than applicant, explain relationship.)

Provide the ISA Membership Number.

Include Unofficial Transcript. (Minimum GPA 2.6)
-
Include brief letter of introduction, defining interests and career objectives.
Selection
The ISA selection committee will meet by July 31, 2011, to review applications. Selections will be made by the end of July. All applications that provide all required documents specifically including a letter of introduction, demonstrating interest in a technical career, will be included in the pool from which the selection committee will choose the scholarship recipients.
The scholarship funds will be sent directly to the student. One payment will be made at the start of the fall semester, 2011 in the amount of $2500, and a second payment will be made at the start of the spring semester, 2012 in the amount of $2500, provided the student maintains the minimum grade point requirement. Prior to the second payment disbursement, the recipient must send an updated unofficial transcript to the ISA contacts below, in order to verify academic progress.
