Mining and Metals Industry Division Members,
Greetings. As your Mining & Metals Division Director, I would like to wish a successful and safe 2013 to all our members.
I used most of last year to study and learn how we might benchmark our division and set the foundation for growth. There have been a few challenges over the past years, but the ISA team is working now helping me to provide you with a better value. We have a number of ideas that I believe you will find of interest so please stay tuned in as we roll the programs out to you. Your feedback and suggestions are always welcome and I encourage you to get involved.
In the Fall of last year I published the first Mining and Metals Newsletter in quite some time. We introduced "Guiding Values" in the Fall Newsletter which are Educate, Communicate Collaborate and Operate. You will see these "Guiding Values" repeatedly over the years to come as we build upon each of them. Together we will explore how our Guiding Values affect Labor, Socioeconomic Issues, Regulation and Processing. Your membership in our Division will provide more value to you and others if you can take the time to contribute, to share your thoughts and opinions. I have received some input already for which I am most grateful and I suspect that more and more of you will become involved as we move forward.
The Winter Newsletter will be published shortly. I have a lot of material that has been gathered to go through and select for the newsletter. Please make sure to send me any comments, pictures, articles or other items you may have for consideration to be published.
I am excited with this opportunity to serve you and all of our associates across the International Society of Automation. Together we can build a Division that is strong, growing and provides value to our membership.
