Message from the President

My career as an Instrument & Control Systems Engineer spans 30 plus years; and, for 25 of those years I have been a senior member of the ISA. My membership has proven to be an invaluable tool in keeping up with new and advancing technologies as well as keeping informed of new applications for existing technologies. I have been able to stay in contact with many members that I have been associated with over the years. One of my goals as President for 2006-2007 will be to promote and advance interest in the ISA through the Transmitter, educational technical meetings, plant tours and the ISA trade show.

This coming year has a new look to the Transmitter, The Trade show has been moved back to the Marriot inn in Amherst with   new ideas being explored to make it bigger and better.

All Technical meetings will be held at the Holiday Inn on Niagara Falls Blvd. in Amherst, N.Y. and subjects of advanced and new technologies are being considered.

The ISA continues to offer programs in Certified Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (CCIM), ISA Certified Control System Technician (CCST), Certified Automation Professional (CAP) and Control Systems Engineer (CSE) License. www.isa.org.

Our section web site is www.isa-niagara.org.  It continues to offer web links, manufacturer’s index, Western New York representative’s listings, committee contacts and information on local ISA activities.

The ISA is only as good as the involvement of its membership. All suggestions and idea’s are encouraged, please feel free to contact any board member or myself at any time.

Best Regards,

Bert Capellini, President
