You can network with fellow instrumentation, systems, and automation (i.s.&a.) professionals and practitioners in our local Section. Many ISA Sections:

• organize meetings where technical information is exchanged by experts,

• organize tours of local facilities to see i.s.&a. technology being applied,

• organize local training programs, conferences or exhibitions,

• offer scholarships to deserving students,

• contribute to the local community, and

• provide opportunities to socialize with your peers.

President's Message

 Have you ever noticed how helpful and pleasant the people are who serve as volunteers in your community?

 To prove the point, just visit your local hospital and talk with the person who first greets you at the reception desk with a smile, then helps you find your way around the hospital? … Most likely, that person is an unpaid volunteer.

 I attribute this behavior to the environment that volunteerism creates by bringing out the best of human traits in people as they work for the common good, free from unhealthy competition, fear or greed.

 As volunteers, people also tend to achieve high quality work since they are self-motivated and have fun doing the work.

 On the other hand, we see volunteers jumping willingly into very dangerous situations to save lives. We all saw on September 11,  how the New York City firemen and rescue workers were rushing into the falling buildings as people were rushing out for safety.

 As we celebrate the 10^th anniversary of our Central New Jersey Section, I cannot help but reflect on such people who created this selfless environment in the Central New Jersey Section ISA.

 If you want to have a true sense of purpose, learn, meet new people, network, enhance your career, and have fun while doing all these things, I encourage you to be active in our Central New Jersey Section ISA as soon as you can.
