To organize, manage, and coordinate all ISA Standards and Practices Department activities for workplace ambient air measurement instrumentation that is used to enhance worker health and safety.
The joint ISA12.13 and ISA92 meeting was held on Monday and Tuesday, September 30 – October 1, 2013.
ANSI/ISA-92.00.01-2010, Performance Requirements for Toxic Gas Detectors, has been approved by the committee, S&P Board and ANSI. The document has now formally replaced the other ISA-92.xx.01 Toxic Gas Performance Standards (except ANSI/ISA-92.04.01, Oxygen Gas Performance).
ANSI/ISA-92.00.02-2013, Installation, Operation, and Maintenance of Toxic Gas-Detection Instruments, Edition 2, document has been balloted and approved by the ISA S&P Board and public review, and the document has now been released as an ANSI document. The document is intended to replace the other ISA-92.xx.02 Toxic Gas Performance Installation & Maintenance (except ISA-RP92.04.02, Oxygen Gas Installation & Maintenance).
The ISA-TR92.00.03, Guide for Toxic Gas Detection as a Method of Personnel Protection, Draft 3 document was submitted for comment to the ISA92 Committee. The collated comments were discussed during the meeting and the document was modified for submittal as Draft 4 ballot and comment to the ISA92 Committee.
The ISA-92.00.04, Performance Requirements for Open Path Toxic Gas Detectors, Draft 6 document was submitted for ballot and comment to ISA92. The collated comments were discussed during the meeting and the document was modified with technical changes requiring submittal for a Draft 8 ballot and comment to ISA92 Committee.
A New Work Item Proposal for IEC 60079-29-5 (Toxic Gas Detector Performance) was developed during the meeting using ISA-92.00.01 and EN 45544.
ISA12.13 and ISA92 will meet in March 2014 in Wilmington, Delaware.
The next combined ISA12.13 and ISA92 meeting with be in conjunction with the ISA12 Committee, Subcommittee, and Working Group Meetings.
