ISA12.0, General Requirements for Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Locations

Scope

The committee shall survey, monitor, and participate in the development of national and international standards, practices, and codes addressing General Requirements related to the protection techniques for electrical equipment intended for use in hazardous (classified) locations.

Purpose

To summarize current practices and publish standards and practices for the General Requirements related to the protection techniques for electrical intended for use in Class I, Zone 0, 1, & 2 hazardous (classified) locations.
To submit proposals, as needed, for revisions to standards and practices addressing General Requirements.

Membership

As a minimum, the committee shall be constituted of the Chairs of the subcommittees covering types of protection d, e, i, n, m, o, and q.

A Word from the Chairman

ISA12.0 is currently working on several US adoptions of IEC 60079 standards.
