ABB received a three-year service contract from Vale Inco Nouvelle Caledonie worth nearly $19 million to provide onsite process control systems service and maintenance at Vale Inco’s process plant located on the South Pacific island of New Caledonia, 1,200 kilometers east of Australia.
Drexel University is the first institution in the country to deploy Viridity’s VPower System energy monitoring system on its main campus in Philadelphia’s University City District. The system will provide real-time measurements of University power usage and eventually allow the University to sell energy back to the larger public grid.
Emerson Process Management received a contract for the second and third phases of a four-phase, multi-year project to modernize automation and controls at Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRDGC). Ovation control technology will monitor and control solids processes at the MWRDGC Stickney Water Reclamation Plant, mainstream pumping station and associated remote pumping stations and reservoirs. Emerson Process Management led the front-end engineering and design and implementation of a new automation system for Northern European wine and spirits manufacturer Pernod Ricard Nordic to increase accuracy and speed of recipe changes in Aalborg, Denmark. Emerson Process Management formed a strategic relationship with Secure Energy, Inc. to help build an $800 million alternative energy plant in Decatur, Ill., the first coal gasification-to-synthetic natural gas plant to be constructed in the U.S. in two decades. Emerson Process Management helped China prepare for startup of Bohai Bay Phase II oil production by engineering and commissioning PlantWeb digital architecture across six platforms and the Peng Bo floating production storage and off-loading vessel, also called Hai Yang Shi You 117.
Invensys Operations Management entered a strategic relationship with Cognizant, a provider of consulting, technology, and business outsourcing, to help improve design, development, and delivery of the company’s products and solutions for users worldwide. Invensys Operations Management and PAS signed an agreement to use PAS’ Integrity Automation Genome Mapping software.
