Workflow process management applicationThe Intelligent Management of Change (iMOC) solution is an innovative workflow process management application that leverages context-based information in the DOC4000 database to create a robust and automated MOC process for industrial control systems. It maps the “DNA” of industrial plants and automatically compiles initial information and documentation defined by the end user and reconciles changes in the system to those outlined in the MOC package. iMOC is a comprehensive tool for managing and verifying changes. It runs as an integrated add-in module on top of DOC4000 software and is fully supported by Honeywell’s Global Technical Assistance Center (GTAC) to ensure that site personnel are able to leverage the full solution capabilities.
Designed specifically for supervisory personnel authorized to manage changes to critical plant systems, the iMOC allows the end user to define the workflow process so that the solution is tailored to the user’s specific needs. An automated approval process helps plants meet enterprise-wide MOC requirements and reduces plant vulnerability to human error, and visualization through DOC4000 puts a plant’s data into context, so better decisions can be made faster. The iMOC workflow instructions for making and approving changes provides a complete solution for managing changes from inception to completion, as well as verification that changes were made properly.
The iMOC adds enormous value to a wide range of industrial organizations, particularly those needing to meet compliance requirements and seeking to avoid problems and mitigate risk of incidents. The solution aggregates and contextualizes configuration databases, programs, and user interfaces, and in doing so, simplifies the management of information in automation systems. The iMOC provides data beyond “change tracking” only. It automates the collection and management of asset information and gives context to the data so that fewer mistakes are made, downtime is reduced and implementation productivity is increased. This automated method avoids reliance on error-prone manual entry and prevents lost knowledge through employee attrition. Proper MOC is a best practice from a safety and economic viewpoint. To keep a plant’s vital automation assets in top condition, a comprehensive MOC solution like iMOC and DOC4000 is crucial to avoid future losses resulting from today’s changes. Resulting in increased safety and compliance through effective management of changes and approvals, reduced expenses with aggregation and preservation of intellectual property, and faster root cause analysis with proper documentation of changes, the iMOC solution offers important benefits to Honeywell customers around the world.
