8400 TopLine Inverter DriveThe 8400 TopLine Inverter Drive, a new model in the Lenze 8400 inverter series, offers automation control and support for asynchronous motors and dynamic synchronous servo motor applications. TopLine was primarily designed for applications previously the sole domain of the servo world due to the precision, dynamics, and speed required. Featuring an energy-saving V/f characteristic control mode (VFCplusEco), the TopLine ensures optimal motor voltage and operational efficiency. In asynchronous motor applications with constant or slowly changing loads, VFCplusEco mode permits the motor to operate in partial load, delivering a 10-30 percent improvement in energy efficiency. Compared to standard asynchronous motors, synchronous servo motors have lower inertia, typically by 65% or more, which leads to increased dynamic performance. TopLine offers sensorless vector control for synchronous motors to improve speed accuracy and allow higher power efficiency.
Intelligent features, including a pluggable memory module and online diagnostics interface, make the 8400 TopLine simple to install, operate and service. L-force drive configuration software provides an intuitive, graphic interface that facilitates drive parameter setting and configuration. The Safe Torque Off (STO) option protects the equipment and user by disabling the drive and disconnecting the power supply to the motor so the drive cannot generate torque. Class-leading features include integrated filters, brake transistors, pluggable memory chip and CANopen. TopLine can accommodate plug-in compatibility with other existing fieldbus systems. Optional communication modules support EtherCAT, Ethernet POWERLINK, INTERBUS, PROFIBUS and PROFINET.
