The Votes Are In
Bravo on Ed Ross’s column in the January/February issue of Motion Control magazine ("Help! Is There an Engineer in the House?"). It seems so simple to fix.
I’m willing to bet that the small towns out here in western Massachusetts that still use the paper ballot are far more accurate that any of Florida’s punch ballots. In this day and age, there's no excuse for accepting such an inaccurate way of counting ballots.
I wish Ross’s column were published in a few of the bigger newspapers. I'll be sending copies to Washington.

I just read Ed Ross’s article on voting machines and agree with him. I've designed the electronics for voting machines in the past and don’t understand why they aren’t used everywhere. The problem is in the slow response of government to modernize. If you should ever hear of a task force to actually get something done, please let me know. I’d like to be a major contributor from the technical side.
