The Votes Are In
Bravo on Ed Rossís column in the January/February issue of Motion Control magazine ("Help! Is There an Engineer in the House?"). It seems so simple to fix.
Iím willing to bet that the small towns out here in western Massachusetts that still use the paper ballot are far more accurate that any of Floridaís punch ballots. In this day and age, there's no excuse for accepting such an inaccurate way of counting ballots.
I wish Rossís column were published in a few of the bigger newspapers. I'll be sending copies to Washington.
I just read Ed Rossís article on voting machines and agree with him. I've designed the electronics for voting machines in the past and donít understand why they arenít used everywhere. The problem is in the slow response of government to modernize. If you should ever hear of a task force to actually get something done, please let me know. Iíd like to be a major contributor from the technical side.
