September/October 2001 Welcome to the September/October 2001 Division Leaders' Brief. This month's issue is filled with useful articles to help you manage your Division. Share this information with your fellow Division leaders, members, colleagues and friends. Please remember to log in as a member to access the links below. Contents:
JOIN US FOR THE ISA PRESIDENT'S FALL MEETING All Division leaders are invited to attend the President's Fall Meeting, 7-9 September 2001 at The Hyatt Regency Hotel in Houston, Texas. A preliminary meeting schedule is available online. DO YOU HAVE AN AGENDA TO POST? Many Divisions are having business meetings in Houston at the Hyatt. If you have an agenda prepared for your meeting and would like it posted online, please e-mail it to Kelly Bishop, kbishop@isa.org. HELP PROMOTE DIVISION MEMBERSHIP AT ISA 2001 We're asking all ISA Division Leaders to wear ribbons during ISA 2001 that say "Ask me about ISA Division membership." As you meet people during your stay in Houston, you can invite them to ask questions about Division Membership and to see what ISA is all about. Your participation and enthusiasm can make a difference! We are mailing the ribbons to all Division Directors and Director-elects. If a member of your board is going to be in Houston, they can pick up their ribbon at the registration desk at the Hyatt on Sunday, 9 September, or they can stop by the Membership area of ISA Mission Control, Booth #1400 in the George R. Brown Convention Center, on Monday. Since everybody did such a fantastic job with the 2001 summer newsletters, we decided to display them in the Membership area of ISA Mission Control, Booth #1400. They're packed with great technical information and helpful articles that will certainly appeal to large numbers of industry professionals. Encourage non-Members to stop by the booth to browse through the newsletters and ask questions about the Divisions. ISA Staff will be there to assist with information. If you have questions or concerns, please contact Kelly Bishop, kbishop@isa.org. JOINT A&T/I&S DEPARTMENT AWARDS LUNCHEON AT ISA 2001 Join us for the joint A&T and I&S Department Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, 12 September 2001, 11:30 a.m. at the George R. Brown Convention Center, Houston, TX. Tickets are $27 per person and may be purchased at www.toobigtomiss.com. If you have already received your tickets for the luncheon, please note the room assignment has changed. The luncheon will now be held in Balcony D, Level 2 in the Convention Center. This is a great time to get together to celebrate your achievements. Reserve a table for your Division by contacting Kelly Bishop at (919) 990-9249 or kbishop@isa.org. From the desk of L.M. "Dutch" Keen, P.E., Section/Division Liaison, the September 2001 Section/Division Report is now available online. JOIN US AT THE ANALYSIS DIVISION LUNCHEON! Mark your calendar and plan to attend the Analysis Division Luncheon at ISA 2001! We'll kick things off at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, 11 September with lunch, followed by our business meeting and recognition of award recipients. This is a great opportunity to interact with like-minded professionals and learn about the Analysis Division's role in ISA. Additional information and a registration form is available online. If you have any questions about the Analysis Division Luncheon, please contact Division Director Jerry Clemons at jerry.m.clemons@us.abb.com or Kelly L. Bishop at ISA Headquarters (919) 990-9249, kbishop@isa.org. COMING SOON! Please send your message as a Word document attachment or directly in an e-mail to Kelly Bishop.
