PRESIDENT'S FALL MEETING

All Division Leaders have been invited to attend the President's Fall Meeting at The Hyatt Regency Hotel in Houston. The Joint A&T/I&S Department Meeting is scheduled for Sunday, 19 October, at 7:30 a.m. All Division Leaders are encouraged to attend this meeting. If you have any agenda items for this meeting, please forward them to your Department Vice President. For more information on the President's Fall Meeting, including a detailed schedule, visit the online President's Fall Meeting page.

Many Divisions are having business meetings in Houston at the Hyatt. If you have an agenda prepared for your meeting and would like it posted online, please e-mail it to Bill Palmer.

ISA EXPO 2003 - TECHNICAL CONFERENCE

ISA Divisions are presenting an outstanding technical conference at this year's fall event. You can review the planned sessions by automation focus, by speaker, or by Division.

Hear industry professionals share their knowledge of, and experience with, the latest industry trends and technologies and the results of their real world applications. Sessions are comprised of original technical presentations, paper/panel discussions, and tutorials based upon applications, concepts, and techniques used today in the manufacturing, process, and distribution environments. In addition to the insight you’ll gain, you will also earn Professional Development Hours (PDHs) for every session you attend.

DIVISION NEWSLETTERS ON CD

By now, some of you will have received the CD containing the Summer 2003 newsletters for 19 Divisions, and by the end of this month, essentially all of you will have. Around the first of October you will receive a survey asking for your evaluation of this method of distributing these vital communications. When you receive this survey, please respond promptly. We need this information in order to help decide whether to repeat this program for next year.

DIVISION OFFICERS FOR 2004

The time is here to elect your Division's officers for the next year, so as soon as your elections are done, please complete the Division Leader Report Form that appears on the ISANetwork, and fax it back to ISA, (919) 549-8288, attention Bill Palmer. You may also e-mail the file to wpalmer@isa.org. All we need is the person's name, their Member number, and the position to which they have been elected. Any other information is always helpful. With this information, ISA Staff will be able to serve your Division better by providing correct contact information on your Division's ISA Web page and recognizing your Leaders. The deadline is 15 October!

CONGRATULATIONS TO YOUR FELLOW DIVISION LEADERS

The winners of the 2003 Outstanding Division Awards are the Analysis Division (Automation and Technology Department) and the Power Industry Division (Industries and Sciences Department). Honorable Mention went to the Safety Division (A&T) and the Aerospace Division (I&S). These awards, along with the winners of the Most Improved, Communications, and individual Division awards, will be presented at the Joint A&T/I&S Department Awards Luncheon at the Reliant Center in Houston, on Tuesday October 21 at 11:30 a.m.

There are still some Divisions who have not yet reserved a table at this luncheon. If you would like to purchase a table, please e-mail Bill Palmer.

DIVISION LUNCHES AT ISA EXPO - MUST ATTEND EVENT!

Several Divisions will be conducting a luncheon for their Members and special guests at this fall's ISA EXPO. All of the lunches are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, 22 October. Your Division lunch gives you a great opportunity to join your friends and fellow Division Members for some sociability and to discuss Division and technical issues. If you haven't yet registered for ISA EXPO 2003, make sure to include a Division lunch among the events you sign up for. If you have already registered, it's not too late - just call ISA Customer Service at (919) 549-8411 or e-mail info@isa.org. Additional details (such as which Divisions are conducting a lunch and the price of a ticket) are available online. And if you want to know what's on the menu, call, (919) 990-9359, or e-mail Bill Palmer.
