November/December 2001 Welcome to the November/December 2001 Division Leaders' Brief. This month's issue is filled with articles to help you manage your Division. Share this information with your fellow Division leaders, Members, colleagues and friends. Please remember to log in as a Member to access the links below. Contents:
The time is here to elect your 2002 Division Officers. As soon as your elections end, please complete the Division Leader Report Form and fax it back to ISA 919-549-8288, attention Kelly Bishop. Or you may e-mail the file to Kelly Bishop at kbishop@isa.org. ISA needs the elected person's name, Member number, and the position to which he or she has been elected. Any additional information that can be provided is always helpful. With this information, ISA Staff will be able to serve your Division effectively by providing correct contact information on your Division's Web page and recognizing your leaders. The deadline is 15 November! ISA SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT MATCHING PROGRAM ISA will match, dollar-for-dollar, any contributions made to the scholarship endowment program. For a minimum donation of $10,000, a Division can establish a named scholarship endowment. With the matching program in place, the Division would only have to donate $5,000 to establish their endowment. The investment return on the endowment would fund scholarships and grow the endowment. Three Divisions have already formed endowments totaling $70,000. The Executive Board has formed a scholarship endowment and a private party has established a $60,000 scholarship endowment in the name of a former ISA President. Take advantage of the matching program and double your scholarship funds. Find out more about the ISA Foundation. For further information contact Allen Cogley at acogley@isa.org or call 919-990-9248. From the desk of L.M. "Dutch" Keen, P.E., Section/Division Liaison, the November 2001 Section/Division Report is now available. 2002 PROGRAM COORDINATORS ARE STILL NEEDED The time has come to start looking ahead to ISA 2002 in Chicago. The Technical Conferences Department is accepting nominations for Program Coordinators to aid in the planning and preparation for the show. When making your selections, please keep in mind that your decision is an important one. Choosing a strong representative will be a benefit to your Division, the Society, and to the overall success of ISA 2002. If your Division has not yet nominated a Program Coordinator, please do so as soon as possible. If you would like to know more about the duties of a Coordinator, or if you wish to submit your Division's nomination, please contact Pawel Biesaga at pbiesaga@isa.org or 919-990-9256.
