Contents:

ISA PRESIDENT'S SUMMER MEETING, 2-6 JUNE 2001

All Division leaders have been invited to attend the President's Summer Meeting at the Westin Hotel, Calgary, Alberta, CANADA. The agendas for all Division meetings are available online.

Please look over the minutes from the Division meetings in Albuquerque.

You will be mailed more information later in May. If you have any comments or questions please contact Kelly Bishop, kbishop@isa.org.

DIVISION ANNUAL REPORTS

This is a reminder to turn in your 2000-2001 Division Annual Reports to your respective Department Honors & Awards Committee. While we have mailed Annual Report forms to you, you can also access them online.

In addition, please submit a copy to Kelly Bishop, ISA Divisions Coordinator. Written Annual Reports received at the 2001 President's Summer Meeting will not be considered for the Outstanding Division Award. They will, however, be considered for the Most Improved Division Award. If you have any comments or questions, contact Kelly Bishop.

TIME TO TURN IN YOUR DIVISION BUDGETS AND BUSINESS PLANS

Your 2002 Budgets and Business Plans are due into headquarters by 31 May 2001. This is your chance to plan for your Division activities for the upcoming year. Information was provided to all Directors, Elects, and Facilitators prior to the President's Winter Meeting. If you need any assistance, contact Kelly Bishop.

ISA STUDENT COMPETITION NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT

ISA International Student Competition will be held 9-10 September 2001, at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas.

Since 1993 ISA has held the International Student Competition in conjunction with the fall event. The competition attracts students from Mexico, Canada, Russia, Italy and across the USA. Student teams compete in a question/answer, quick-draw Bowl and a hands-on, problem-solving Practical.

A major challenge each year is to develop clear, concise questions for the Bowl. Once developed, ISA Fellows review the questions, but the initial challenge is to get the questions. This is where you can help, and without attending a committee meeting or accepting any on-site responsibility! You can submit questions! The guidelines for question developers are available online.

SECTION/DIVISION REPORT

From the desk of L.M. "Dutch" Keen, P.E., Section/Division Liaison, the May 2001 Section/Division Report is now available online.

SUMMER NEWSLETTERS

As you are aware, the deadline for submitting content to Headquarters for your Summer newsletters is 15 June 2001. We will begin production immediately following that deadline. Please note you may submit content prior to this date. The earlier the better! Some helpful tips for your newsletter are available online. You must be logged in as a member to access this page.

Just so you do not feel overwhelmed in gathering your content for newsletters, here is a suggested timeline for providing information.

Please remember: If you do not get the content to ISA by 15 June 2001 it will be very difficult for the newsletters to be produced and mailed in time for ISA 2001. This is your chance to reach out to your Division members! If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact either your Department Vice President or Kelly Bishope.
