Welcome to the first annual Division Leaders Brief. Please review this January/February edition carefully for articles to help you manage your Division, and pass this info on to other interested leaders and members of your Division.

ISA PRESIDENT'S WINTER MEETING, 3-7 FEBRUARY 2001

All Division leaders have been invited to attend the President's Winter Meeting at the Hyatt Regency in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We need you to come prepared so please look over the following documents that will help with the business planning of your Division:

Please also review the minutes from the A&T/I&S Department Meeting that took place at the President's Summer Meeting.

As an ISA member, you can enjoy current news that is personalized to your interests and activities, and find links to your local Section, standards committees, technical Divisions, and Society committees - all on one Web page - just by logging into ISA OnLine. Look for the "ISA Member Login" link at www.isa.org.

DIVISION OFFICERS FOR 2001

By now, most Divisions have elected their 2001 officers. If you have not already done so, please complete the Division Leader Report Form that appears on ISA Online and fax it to Kelly Laurence, ISA Divisions Coordinator, at 919-549-8288. You may also e-mail the information to Kelly Laurence at klaurence@isa.org.

All you need to include is the person's name, membership number and the position to which the person was elected. With this information, ISA Staff will be able to serve your Division better by providing correct contact information on your Division's ISA Online web page and newsletter.

REMINDER TO ALL DIVISION PROGRAM COORDINATORS

The ISA 2001 Technical Conference Call for Papers is online.

Please submit your Division solicited applications before the 31 January 2001 deadline. If you have any questions please contact Dana Dunkley, Technical Programming Coordinator, at ddunkley@isa.org or call (919)-990-9265.

SECTION/DIVISION REPORT

From the desk of L.M."Dutch" Keen, P.E., Section/Division Liaison, the January 2001 Section/Division Report is now available.

2001 TAPPI/ISA PUPID DIVISION CONFERENCE

TAPPI's Process Control, Electrical, and Information Division and ISA's Pulp and Paper Industry Division Conference will be held 25-29 March 2001 at the Menger Hotel in San Antonio. The program will focus on process control, process design, mill-wide control, information systems, systems integration, electrical engineering, and quality control. The program will also feature technical papers and workshops involving design strategy, implementation, and case studies. MINING & METALS DIVISION TO PARTICIPATE AT 2001 SME CONFERENCE

The Mining & Metals Division will participate in the technical program at the 2001 SME Conference in Denver, Colorado, 26-28 February 2001. M&M will provide a session in conjunction with SME's Mineral Processing Division / Process Control & Computer Applications Committee. REMINDER TO ALL DIVISION DIRECTORS

If you have not already done so, please submit your Director's message to Kelly Bishop, for Web site posting. Your message should highlight sessions of interest to your Division for ISA/2001. This is also a good place to encourage members to take on leadership positions within your Division, if needed.
