ISA EXPO 2009 Call for Papers
Make a Powerful Impact on the ISA EXPO 2009 Technical Conference!
Submit your abstract for consideration for the 2009 Technical Conference and make a powerful impact on the program content. The conference program will be made up of solicited presentations, papers, tutorials, and panel discussions, as well as unsolicited presentations and papers approved through this Call for Paper submissions.
We're most interested in papers, but will consider presentations only (i.e., no paper submittal). Abstract submissions will be evaluated based on the topics identified in the different Exchange Tracks and the relevance and interest to the automation market. All submissions should be focused on end user applications of technology.
Supplier abstracts will be accepted only if presented jointly with an end user (e.g., the supplier presentation focusing on the technology, and the end user presentation focusing on the application of the technology).
The topics listed below are currently being requested through this Call for Papers.

Submit your Paper in one of the following categories:
Paper Session – 20-minute presentation – 10 minute Q&A
The most prestigious category is the presentation of technical papers on subjects of current topical interest. Paper presentations comprise the largest part of the conference program. Two or three papers are presented in each session and address key elements of the same topic. Each paper is presented in approximately twenty minutes with ten additional minutes devoted to discussions and questions from the audience. All published papers are reviewed for originality, clarity, completeness and lack of commercialism (commercialism is not tolerated and is cause for disqualification). Papers presented at the conference (that have gone through the review process) will appear in the online proceedings and qualify for Professional Development Hour (PDH) credit. Following the selection of abstracts, authors will be notified and asked to provide the following: (Unsolicited abstracts that are accepted will require a written paper for Review.)
- Rights and Responsibilities Release – the paper must be copyrighted by ISA before Publication
- Review Draft – The almost completed paper to be sent for Review
- Final Paper – This is the completed paper after you receive notification that the paper has gone through review and has been accepted – with or without modifications
- PowerPoint Presentation – This presentation will be used onsite. Must be on standard ISA template and free of commercialism.
- Supplier/End User Presentation – Should be submitted as a joint author/co-author abstract. PowerPoint presentations could be different.
Panel Session – 90 minutes
Three to five experts discuss significant industry and technology topics. Panel members and session attendees participate in the discussion. Panels are most effective when they begin with brief opening remarks/presentations.
Tutorial Session – 90 minutes
An industry expert leads a focused discussion followed by audience participation. Tutorials focus on technology and often include hands-on activities or demonstrations.
