OpenO&M Interoperability Demo and Executive Summit

Sustainability has become a mission critical focus for both global industry and public sector critical infrastructure. Sustainability initiatives require information to flow quickly and unambiguously between all areas of major organizations so that critical decisions can be made based on the correct information. Associated Operational and Enterprise Risk Management initiatives rely on risks being identified, captured and escalated on a systemic basis, so that those who will be held accountable are guaranteed to be properly informed. Unfortunately, the Information Technology (IT) and Information Systems (IS) architectures currently in place are insufficient to provide the needed levels of interoperability and support on a sustainable basis. In response to this situation, the OpenO&M Initiative Team has collaborated with POSC Caesar, FIATECH and key ISO Working Groups as well as leading solutions suppliers to enable the needed sustainable IT and IS infrastructure spanning Engineering and Construction, Operations and Maintenance, Controls and Enterprise Business Systems. Rather than having isolated islands of activity linked by unsustainable proprietary integration solutions, the suppliers of all major classes of industrial systems are now adopting open standards based interfaces providing the needed levels of sustainable interoperability. Come see this inter-domain interoperability demonstrated for the first time in the OpenO&M demonstration booth at the ISA EXPO 2009.

OpenO&M will also conduct an Executive Summit on the afternoon of Tuesday, 6 October for those with strategic accountability for plant and platform performance. This summit will help your management understand the business value of your ISA membership and ISA standards activities through an executive level discussion and private demonstration of the next generation of open standards-enabled plant and platform management solutions. We encourage ISA members and perspective ISA EXPO 2009 attendees to discuss this Executive Summit with your management team and/or contact cgrove@isa.org for more information.
