The Employment and Training Administration (ETA), in collaboration with the Automation Federation, has worked with industry leaders to develop a comprehensive competency model for careers in automation. The Automation Federation has been a key player in working with ETA to look at the transformation in the automation industry. Displaced workers in this field are reevaluating their career options and looking at retraining and/or career exploration and the steps necessary to get there. This Webinar is designed to inform attendees of the International Society of Automation (ISA) Expo 2009 about the retraining, educational and career changing opportunities available to them. Throughout this Webinar, attendees will learn about (1) what they need to be reemployed; (2) resources and agencies for reemployment services; (3) skills assessment; and (4) an overview of the Automation Competency Model, which details the necessary skills, knowledge and abilities essential for successful performance in the automation industry/occupation. In addition, Webinar participants will hear from ETA representatives, who have experience in skills assessments, economic data analysis and on-line electronic tools, to provide career and training information during these challenging economic times.
