The CIMM program requires that you recertify every three years to maintain your certification. The purpose of recertifying is to ensure that as a CIMM-certified mechanic you maintain the same level of knowledge originally demonstrated when you passed the written examination. If you do not renew within 4 months after your expiration date, your certification is considered lapsed. Download the Renewal Application. Download the Renewal Policies. In order to renew, documentation of work experience as a maintenance mechanic during the time certified will be required, as well as documentation of continuing education. Renew on or before your certification expiration date by completing the Renewal Application and documenting 120 Professional Development Points (PDPs).
