CAP Associate Requirements

A CAP Associate has completed a four-year academic degree (or will have completed a four-yearr academic degree within six months of taking the exam) in automation or a related engineering or technology area. Related areas include instrumentation, measurement and control, chemical, electrical, electronics, or mechanical engineering or technology. Computer programming courses related to practical engineering applications also qualify.

Applicants should talk with their university sponsor/professor or employer about offering a CAP Associate exam at the applicant’s educational institution or place of work. The sponsoring professor/employer should complete a site agreement and provide to ISA to schedule the exam along with the collected applications and payment for those individuals registering to take the CAP Associate exam.

The exam application should be accompanied by an official transcript to verify the educational background of the applicant.
