ISA Leaders MeetingMeeting formatThe sessions are scheduled so conclusions and recommendations reached in the early days of the meeting can lead to decisions in the later days, culminating with the Executive Board meeting at the very end. The general opening session held in the early part of the meeting gives everyone an opportunity to meet and learn about special plans and/or key topics for the week's meetings. The meetings and training sessions are scheduled in 50-minute time periods with short breaks between each period. Task forces and committees typically meet early in the week and report conclusions to their respective Departments or Activity Boards. Departments and Activity Boards meet prior to the Executive Board meeting and submit proposals for Executive Board information or action. Open meetings are ISA's general policy; all ISA members are welcome to attend any meeting. However, there are some exceptions to the open meeting policy as follows:
Facilities (room size and setup) are normally planned for the number of members in the group that is meeting. Observers are normally not participants in meeting discussions. The chair, at his/her discretion, can call on observers if the chair believes that it will further the business of the meeting, but the chair is not obligated to do so. The chair can call the meeting into executive session (group members only) at any time. |
