W. Gerald Wilbanks, PE, Co-chairA member of ISA since 1966 and a Fellow since 2003, Gerald Wilbanks has been actively involved in ISA at the Section, District, Division, Department, and Society levels. He has served in numerous committee and officer positions in the Birmingham Section, including Section President in 1975-76. He served as Division Director of the Pulp and Paper Industries Division in 1983 - 85, and was Vice President of the Industries & Sciences Department in1989 - 91. In 1993, Gerald was elected President-elect Secretary and served as President of ISA in 1995. In 1999 - 2000, Gerald served as the Chair of the ISA Society Structure Task Force, served as a member of the Professional Identity Task Force in 2001, and was a member of the Structure Task Force in 2003. Gerald has presented talks and made presentations at various ISA Section Meetings and has been program chair for several ISA events. He was the primary developer of the Control Systems Professional Engineer Exam Refresher Class, which began in 2003, and instructs the three day session several times each year. He developed and presents a six part web seminar each year, which deals with preparation for the PE exam. Gerald’s contributions to ISA and the control systems field of practice were recognized in 2011, when he was presented the Life Achievement Award. He is a Distinguished Engineering Fellow at Mississippi State University and served on the Engineering Advisory Committee for many years. |
