Golden Achievement Award

The Golden Achievement Award recognizes society members who have at least 25 years of ISA membership and continuing active service and epitomize the membership ideals of the society.

2009 Honorees

Robert M. Bailliet
Syscon International Inc., Magnolia, Texas, USA (Houston Section)
Bailliet has been a member of ISA for 37 years. He has demonstrated dedication and commitment to ISA beginning with his involvement in the New Orleans Section where he held committee chair positions and also served as Section President. He served as District Vice President representing members from the Southern US on the ISA Executive Board, was Director of the Marine Sciences Division, Vice President of the Industries & Sciences Department, and participated on numerous Society committees and task forces. Bailliet’s leadership was recognized by his peers and he was nominated and elected to the position of Society President-elect Secretary, serving as Society President in 2001. Upon completion of his term as President, Bailliet has continued to serve the Society holding positions on numerous Society committees and task forces.

James E. Bouchard
Johnson & Johnson, Montreal, Quebec, Canada (Montreal Section)
Bouchard has been a member of ISA for 31 years. He has demonstrated dedication and commitment to ISA by his continuing active involvement holding numerous positions in the local Montreal Section, including co-founder of the Montreal Section Computer Club, Section Treasurer and Section President. He has also served at the District level as acting Secretary and Parliamentarian. In addition to service at the local level, Bouchard has held positions at the international level on numerous committees, as Director of the Food & Pharmaceutical Division, Vice President of the Web Activities Department and a member of the ISA Executive Board. James is Engineering Group Leader for Johnson & Johnson in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Diana C. Bouchard
Techexpressions, Montreal, Quebec, Canada (Montreal Section)
Diana has been a member of ISA for 28 years. She has demonstrated dedication and commitment to ISA by her continuing active involvement in the Society holding numerous positions in the local Montreal Section including Newsletter Editor, Program Chair and Section President. She has held numerous positions at the District level including District Nominator and District Vice President. Bouchard has served as Vice President Publications Department, Chair of the Board of Department Vice Presidents, held numerous Committee positions and served two terms as member of the Society Executive Board. A retired paper scientist, Diana currently performs scientific and technical writing, editing, and translation as an independent consultant.

Award and Presentation:

The award may be presented annually and consists of a plaque and a special ISA pin of the proper grade surrounded by a golden circle. Presentation is made at the annual honors and awards program.

Qualifications:

Any member, of any grade, is eligible; however, a minimum of three years must have elapsed following membership on the Society Executive Board, Society Board of Department Vice Presidents, and Board of District Vice Presidents in order to be considered. In general, it is expected that the nominees shall have at least the following characteristics:

  • 25 years of continuous ISA membership
  • Continuing active service to the Society at the Section, District, Division, Department, or Society level, or any combination thereof.
  • Epitomize to the membership the ideals of the Society.

Nomination:

Nominations of an individual for the Golden Achivement Award may be made by any member, Section, District, Division, Department or Society unit. Nominations are made in writing on the appropriate.
