ISA Educational Foundation Scholarship Fund Frequently Asked Questions
ISA awards scholarships from the ISA Educational Foundation Scholarship fund. These funds are provided through endowments of generous gifts from supporters. Here are some frequently asked questions about the ISA Education Foundation Scholarship Program:
Q: Who is eligible?
A: Applicants are currently enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate program in an instrumentation, systems, or automation discipline (2 year prograom or 4 year baccalaureate program or its equivalent) at an educational institution in their country of residence.
- Two year program applicants must have completed at least one academic semester or 12 semester hours or its equivalent.
- Four year degree program applicants must be in their sophomore year or higher of their study or its equivalent at the time of application.
- Applicants must be full-time students in an educational institution and have at least an overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Q: How can I apply?
A: Follow these four steps to apply:
- Step 1: Complete the top portion of the application
- Step 2: Have your Department Head complete the College/University Department Head Endorsement section
- Step 3: Attach the supporting information
- Step 4: Submit 11 copies (1 original and 10 copies) of your completed application and all supporting documents to:

Q: What is the deadline for submitting applications?
A: All applications must be postmarked 16 Februrary 2010 or earlier and received at ISA Headquarters by 26 February 2010.
Q: Will I receive a confirmation that ISA has received my application?
A: Each applicant will receive an acknowledgement letter mailed to the applicant's listed address.
Q: How will I know if I have been selected to receive a scholarship award?
A: Scholarship recipients will be contacted in July. Individuals not selected to receive an award will not be notified. Therefore, if you do not hear from us by the end of July announcing your selection for an award, you are not an award winner. Individuals not selected to receive an award are eligible to submit another application for the next year. All qualification criteria must be met for the succeeding year's application period.
