Michael Scott
He has a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park and a Masters of Engineering for the University of South Carolina, Columbia with an emphasis on chemical process modeling, simulation and advanced controls. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Georgia, South Carolina and Illinois. In addition, he is a Certified Functional Safety Expert. Mike is an ISA Member and is the current Assistant Subcommittee Chairman for Burner Management Systems for the new ISA Safety Division. Mike has facilitated several panel sessions and presented numerous papers at ISA events on Safety Instrumented Systems. In addition to ISA services related to Safety Instrumented Systems, Mike is a past member of Process Industries Practices (PIP) Safety System Task Team. |

Mike Scott, PE, CFSE, is the Vice President of Process Safety with AE Solutions, a company that specializes in safety critical and high availability process and machine automation. He has over 14 years of experience in control systems engineering where he performed/implemented conceptual design, detailed design, configuration, and startup/commissioning exercises for the chemical process industry.
