Gerald F. GilmanGerald F. Gilman PE is a retiree of Procter & Gamble. When he retired from P&G he was a Control and Information Systems Manager in a Soap Sector Engineering Department. He worked for P&G for over 37 years. Jerry was responsible for the control and information systems at three P&G sites and the P&G co-ordinator / resource for safety instrumented systems and safety standards worldwide. During his career Jerry was a control systems engineer in the foods, pulp and paper, and soap business categories. He was also a key resource for boiler control systems and boiler start-ups. Since his retirement he is a consultant to companies for safety applications and developer of training programs for companies. Jerry is a Registered Professional Engineer and a Senior / Life Member of ISA.

Jerry has given numerous papers for ISA sections, Control Expo Triconex Users Group and the Honeywell Users Group. Jerry is a member of ISA and past president of the Cincinnati Section. He is currently the Cincinnati Section Treasurer. He is an instructor for ISA International as well as a training course developer for ISA. He is also a member of the ISA84 committee that developed the standard for "Application of Safety Instrumented Systems for the Process Industries." Jerry is a member of NFPA and the NFPA Technical Committee on Single Burner Boilers. He is a member of the ISA77 Standards Committee that develops standards for Fossil Fuel Power Plant Facilities and POWID (Power Industry Division) of ISA. He is a member of NFPA (National Fire Prevention Association) and is a voting member of NFPA 85 Boiler and Combustion Systems Hazards Code 2007 Edition on Single Burner Boilers. He has written a book titled “Boiler Controls Systems Engineering”.
