Terminology
Attenuation
A reduction in energy, the amount of which is usually expressed in decibels.
Collimate
To modify the paths of electrons in a flooding beam, causing them to become more nearly parallel.
Photodiode
A semiconductor diode in which the reverse current varies with illumination.
Tomography
A method of producing a 3-D image of a structure by observing and recording the differences in the effects on the passage of waves of energy impinging on that structure.
