The role of IAONA
IAONA has teamed with ODVA
and the IDA Group and has agreed on a common
understanding for the advancement of Ethernet TCP/IP-based communication technology.
The parties acknowledge there will be different real-time communication protocols, but they have agreed to study and specify future extensions to these de-facto standards together. A first result will be a common guideline for installation and cabling in industrial environments.
Good old Ethernet has turned into a powerful communication system with a magical attraction to industrial users and manufacturers.
