Jonathan Pollet

Jonathan PolletJonathan Pollet is an Electrical Engineer currently employed by PlantData Technologies, and has specific experience in SCADA Systems Design, SCADA Systems Implementation, and SCADA Security Assessments. His background also includes Automation Systems, Data Acquisition, Systems Integration, Facility Engineering, Automated Energy Management, Project Team Leadership, and Project Documentation.

Upon graduating as an Electrical Engineer with honors in 1997 from the University of New Orleans, he was offered a position at the Chevron USA Production Company as an Automation and Facility Engineer. During his employment with Chevron, he worked on both offshore and onshore production fields in California. While employed at Chevron, Jonathan was trained in Project Management, PLC and SCADA System Design, and he implemented over a dozen various Automation and SCADA capital projects until he left Chevron in 1999.

At the end of 1999, Jonathan left Chevron to assist in the development of a Systems Integration firm in Bakersfield, California. The company, PLCs Plus International, was started with only 6 people, and today it employs over 20 programmers and engineers. Jonathan was hired on as a principal in this firm, and he developed much of the business practices, business models, marketing information, company documentation, company employee manuals, office networking systems, project management practices, project accounting, and corporate IT policies. He also continued his technical advancement by implementing over 50 various SCADA, Automation, and Database/Web projects on the West Coast.

At the end of 2001, Jonathan moved to the Houston area for family considerations, and started PlantData Technologies. PlantData employs Jonathan, as well as four additional programmers and developers. They specialize in Automation Systems, Data Acquisition, SCADA System Design, SCADA Security Assessments, Database Design and Optimization, Hand-held Computing, Data and Business Process Mapping, and Web Development.

Jonathan has been actively involved with the IEEE, ISA, and CSIA professional societies. He has served as many roles, including President of the Bakersfield (SSJV) section for ISA, and he has given several presentations and training sessions on SCADA Systems, Systems Integration, and SCADA Security. He is also serving as a liaison for both the ISA and CSIA, and he reports to the Chairman of the Board of these two organizations. Jonathan has also authored two white papers on SCADA Systems Deployment and Developing a Solid SCADA Security Strategy.
