Fellow ISA Baton Rouge Section Members,
Welcome to the Baton Rouge Section for the 2011-2012 year.
Over the summer the executive board has been busy working to improve our section. We hope you like what you see. More importantly we want your feedback. Help us continue to improve the way your section can best support you in your career in Automation.
The first change is our new newsletter format. This first issue is to show you what we want to accomplish and hopefully this will inspire some of you to contribute: articles, information, anything you think we might accept as input to pass along to our members.
We are including a Jobs section. In these economic times we all need to help each other. Your local ISA section is willing to be a vehicle to help get potential employers and employees together. If you are looking for local talent, or you are local talent, please don’t overlook this newsletter as one way of getting the word out.
For those needing to keep their PDHs up, we will be listing known local events that offer PDH and CEU credits. Most ISA luncheons carry a single PDH, our technical day usually carries 6-7 PDHs.
We will continue to fill in the annual schedule of monthly meeting topics as speakers are confirmed.
Again, thank you for your continued support and welcome back after this eventful summer. I look forward to the privilege of leading our section for the coming year.
Bruce Slade, PE
2011-2012 Section President
The ISA Baton Rouge Section, originally chartered May 10th, 1949, and was founded by instrumentation and automation professionals for the purpose of establishing a venue where colleagues could gather and stay abreast of changes to their industry. If you are affiliated in any instrumentation, automation, integration or management function where these skillsets exist, then you are encouraged to join ISA and become a member of our Section.
Please feel free to visit our site, learn about our Section, what we represent, what benefits and resources could be available to you.
